ABOUT

Located on the serene shoreline of Lake Rosalie in Lake Wales, Florida, Butch’s Hideaway RV Park offers a lakeside escape where comfort, community and natural beauty come together. Since opening in 2017, our private, gated park has become a destination for RV travelers seeking shaded patios, full hookups, fishing, wildlife viewing, and an atmosphere that truly feels like home. Just steps from your RV door, you’ll find our bathhouse with laundry, a pool, a private concrete boat ramp and two lighted docks ideal for sunrise fishing or evening relaxation under the stars. This is more than a place to stay—it is a welcoming community set against a backdrop of towering oaks and reflective water, with sightings of sandhill cranes, bald eagles, otters, turtles and deer. Come experience rural Central Florida in comfort, safety and authenticity.

A Perfect Lakeside Escape

Butch’s Hideaway RV Park sits on over four thousand acres of Lake Rosalie, ideal for boating, kayaking and fishing. Our RV sites feature 30 and 50 amp electrical service, water and sewer hookups, and outdoor patios made of concrete or wood. Each site is thoughtfully shaded by live oaks and palms, with well-kept grass and clean surroundings. With gated access, a dump station, fire pits and a community barbecue area, guests enjoy both privacy and convenience. The communal pool offers a place to cool off, relax, and get to know other travelers.

Discover Florida’s Wildlife

Wildlife is at the center of every visit. Morning visitors often spot sandhill cranes and wood ducks gathering by the water’s edge. Birds of prey, including bald eagles and owls, routinely glide overhead. Otters and turtles glide through the shallows, and armadillos and deer make appearances near campsites. The night sky, free from urban light, reveals constellations, shooting stars and planets. Our bathhouse, affectionately known as the Bird House, is situated to preserve the natural setting while offering guests the comforts of hot showers and laundry access.

Local Attractions and Day Trips

A short drive takes you to iconic Central Florida destinations. Enjoy the historic Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, marvel at the gardens of Bok Tower and Gardens, or explore Kissimmee State Park by canoe. For a change of pace, Tampa and Orlando are each about one hour away, opening options for world-class dining, shopping or theme parks before returning to your peaceful lakeside retreat. Nearer to home, local craft breweries, farmers markets and antique shops in Lake Wales provide a taste of small-town charm and community.

"The best little gem of a campground right off lake Rosalie and far enough out of town to soak in the sounds of nature and nothing else.and some of the clearest view of the stars you can get and maybe even see the next space x launch from the beautiful dock.and the owner's are the most friendly people you will ever meet. Would give 1000 stars if I could."

"Just spent a week here, very nice, small camp ground. Private, quiet. Wonderful sunrises! Our site had a lake view. Lots of birds if you are a birder. Two small docks for fishing, and a boat ramp to put your boat in. Bath house with washer and dryer. Hosts are very nice and accommodating. Close to attractions, such as Bok Tower, Kissimmee State Park. Of the three places we stayed while in Florida it was our favorite. Jim & Kathy"
